Hi! The brain IS mostly neurons, but not all of them are! Macroscopically it is brain matter, but also there are very many arteries and veins following the folds and lines (called gyri and sulci) of the brain

Important stuff! These networks perfuse the brain and allows function. ALSO, you have your choroid plexus and ventricles, which produces cerebrospinal fluid. It’s those alien looking, blue colored things in this picture, they look super rad tbh

That’s the big picture, though. Even microscopically, you have an entire system of cells in your brain and they’re made up of neurons, but also other cool stuff!

BUT THIS is an astrocyte. Not a neuron. This lil bud actually makes up MORE OF YOUR BRAIN THAN NEURONS DO. They act as sources of nutrients and energy and maintains neurons and actually takes care of injured neurons as best as they could when there’s trauma and god knows they try hard these lil cuties, because fact: neurons are the only irreplacable cells in your body. Heart cells also don’t regenerate upon injury but YO YOU CAN TRANSPLANT A HEART. YOU CAN NEVER TRANSPLANT A BRAIN. YO

This is an oligodendrocyte, another common brain cell! It sheaths the axons of the neurons, which allows for faster transfer of info. Again, not a neuron, but a lil neuron helper.
