匿名: fellow med student! i'm curious as to if you have any school resources? i've hit a plateau in my study motivation so i want to remix my routine up and hope you could link me or give me some advice since you''re just like. amazing.

HI SWEET CHEEKS <3 HERE IS WHAT I PROPOSE:

  • Turn off all your electronics. Just turn them off. Tuck them away where you can’t instinctively reach for them. Trust me, this zones in your attention span about 50 percent more, at the least.
  • If you can promise yourself that you’re able to control yourself in the face of an open web browser, Here are my favorite mixes to listen to whenever I’m studying–all instrumentals, of course. Here’s one that’s mellow and soft, here’s one that makes you feel like you’re saving the world, and here’s one that’s super long (there’s actually four more mixes under the same user check them out as well)  Studying with music isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but I find it invigorating than dead silence.
  • REAL TIME BOARD!! So good if you’re a visual learner. I’m planning to use this more often since it’s working quite nicely for me!
  • GOOGLE DRIVE!! If you don’t have one already, please do sign up for it. God knows how much this app helped me out with sharing files and online group works.
  • I like writing stuff down ; U ; When I’m doing an assigned reading (which is usually about two to three chapters long) I keep myself focused by writing down short, general summaries of each section I finish onto a post it. That way I’m reviewing the content a second time at the same time engaging different parts of my brain in the process. Good pens and good post its of different colors always make this a fun little activity.
  • Set reasonable goals for yourself! I find this extremely helpful. For example, tell yourself that you’re going to finish at least half a chapter for today. The fact that you have a finish line you’re working towards makes the studying tangible and in sight, which I find improves my concentration a lot.
  • And lastly, fellow student of the medical field, perspective. This is so cool what you’re doing right now. You’re studying something akin to if not one hundred percent anatomy and physiology. You’re studying something that is you; yourself, the inner workings of your body and how every single constituent of you is mechanizing so minutely yet so grandly at the same time! Appreciate these things and remember them when you’re faced with about a hundred new terms or a hundred new drugs to research. You’re doing amazing stuff. :)
